For an off-road adventure or a few steps up from tent camping, you may be interested in an Opus camper. These rugged folding campers are easy to tow, don’t take up a lot of space, and still offer a lot of the benefits of a spacious living space in the great outdoors. So, how much do Opus campers cost?

Opus campers cost anywhere from $20,000 to $50,000 and up depending on the specific model, features, and whether you purchase it new or used. The OPUS OP 15 is the top of the line luxury model that may cost in the $45k range or more, while some of the more basic models are in the $20k to $30k range.

What is an Opus Camper?

Opuscampers trailers are designed for adventure. They’re built for rugged, off-road destinations but with many of the same features and comforts you’d find with a more traditional camper.

According to the company, Opus camper trailers are designed for people who are “serious about going places where there are no roads.” These made in the USA camper trailers come in a variety of models with designs and features for every lifestyle or preference.

What makes Opus camper trailers different from other similar products is that every unit is built with the same off-road package. That means your Opus will have upgraded suspension and shocks in addition to the standard full outdoor slide-out kitchen.

Opus camper trailers are available in several models, each with its own specifications and price points.

Opus models include:

  • OP15 Hybrid Caravan
  • OP4 Air Tent
  • OP2 Air Tent
  • OP Lite Air Tent

Opus camper trailers are made in the U.S.A., making them extra appealing to anyone who likes to stick with domestic products.

How Much Do Opus Campers Cost?

Opus camper trailers may cost around $20,000 for a standard pre-owned model. However, top of the line new models with all the bells and whistles (“fully loaded”) may cost closer to $50,000.

Like any other vehicle, the price ultimately depends on the specific model, features, upgrades, and the trailer’s age and condition.

Opus Camper ModelEstimated Price
OP Lite$10,000 – $25,000
OP2 Air Tent$23,000 – $35,000
OP4 Air Tent$25,000 – $40,000
OP15 Hybrid Caravan$40,000 – $60,000+

The OP Lite is the smallest and least expensive option, as it’s a compact version of the larger models designed for just a weekend away. The OP Lite is a good choice if you want to haul it behind a small SUV or Jeep versus a larger towing vehicle. You may be able to find a pre-owned OP Lite for around $10,000, but a new one will cost closer to $20k.

The OP2 Air Tent is the next step up from the OP Lite. It’s a bit larger and sleeps up to 4 people. This model typically runs between $23k and $35k, but you may be able to find a used one even cheaper. Of course, adding upgrades and features will increase the price for any model.

The next larger option is the OP4, which has some upgraded options for creature comforts and sleeps up to 6. The camper inflates automatically and allows you to go live off the grid for longer periods than the smaller models.

The OP15 Hybrid Caravan is the largest and most expensive model. It expands into a full-sized camper with up to 6’6” of head room, includes twin bunk beds along with a king bed, and houses a full bathroom with a shower. The cost for the OP15 ultimately depends on the condition, year, and what options are included.

A brand new, fully-loaded OP15 may cost as much as $60k to $75k depending on the features and amenities you select.

Final Thoughts

If you and your family love getting on the open road and seeing the great outdoors like never before, an Opus Camper Trailer will help you experience it in a new way. Their Air Tent technology takes all the hassle out of setting up your campsite, but it still feels like “real” camping.

So, if you’re not quite into the idea of an all-out camper or RV, an Opus might be a good solution for your family. It offers many of the benefits of a camper (like beds, a fridge, kitchen, bathroom, etc.) but without having to haul a massive house on wheels (or drive one).

Still, these products are very high quality and known as “rugged luxury,” so you should expect to pay a significant price for one of these campers. But, if you’re willing to shop around or consider a pre-owned model, you may be able to find a great deal within your budget.
