While it’s well-known for its automobiles, Nissan has been producing forklifts since 1957. Today, you can purchase a variety of used Nissan forklifts.

Forklifts, or lift trucks, are an integral part of warehouse operations. Although you can rent or lease a forklift, if you’re planning on using this piece of equipment long-term, you might want to look at purchasing.

nissan forklift price

On average, a Nissan forklift cost between $10,000 to $17,500. Load capacity, the type of forklift, and hours of use will influence the pricing.

Model Price
Nissan BX50 $14,765 USD
Nissan PE50Y $11,000 USD
Nissan CF35LP $13,500 USD
Nissan PF50 $17,500 USD
Nissan AH50 $10,000 USD

Nissan Forklift History

Nissan began the mass production of forklifts in Japan in 1961. In 1988, Nissan Forklift acquired Barrett Industrial Trucks Inc. and began producing forklifts in the US. Over the years, Nissan produced a variety of forklift models.

In 2013, Nissan Forklift Corporation became UniCarriers America. Therefore, models produced after 2013 are under the UniCarriers America name.

Nissan Forklift became the first manufacturer to obtain EPA and CARB certifications for its own engines.

Factors Affecting Nissan Forklift Price

Since forklifts haven’t been produced under the Nissan name since 2013, only used Nissan forklifts are available for purchase. However, you can buy new UniCarriers America forklifts, which are essentially Nissan forklifts under a different name (source).

When you’re looking at Nissan forklifts, the model, age, and operating hours all affect the price. The older the age and the higher the number of operating hours, the higher the price.

As the lift capacity increases, so does the price. Therefore, a forklift that can lift 6,000 pounds will cost more than a forklift that costs 3,000 pounds, if all other factors are the same.

Types of Nissan Forklifts

There are two main types of Nissan forklifts, based on how the engines are powered. These two types are internal combustion and electric.

Internal Combustion

Internal combustion forklifts use propane, gasoline, or diesel to operate. Therefore, you must factor fuel costs into their operating costs.

Electric

Electric forklifts rely on battery rather than fuel to operate. The batteries are rechargeable. These forklifts are mainly used for indoor use.

Types of Forklift Tires

There are two types of forklift tires: cushion and pneumatic. Some forklift models can only accommodate one type of tire, so make sure you check tire compatibility before purchasing.

Cushion

Cushion tires have a smooth surface that doesn’t provide much traction. Therefore, these tires are best suited for indoor use on a smooth floor. Cushion tires do offer a small turning radius, which makes them ideal for spaces that require supreme maneuverability.

Pneumatic

These tires’ tread provides a good grip. This makes them a popular choice for use in outdoor spaces or indoor/outdoor warehouses. While they offer better traction, they also come with a wider turning radius. Therefore, they’re not the best choice for tight spaces.
